Mind Obliteration Gun

Another benefit to this is that it lends more to random entries.

Packing list for JRTC rotation:

+ Gameboy SP
+ asst Gameboy games to include a minimum of one (1) Metroid series game, one (1) Castlevania series games, and one (1) Mega Man series game.
+ portable DVD player
+ Season 2 of Babylon 5
+ Texhnolyze series
+ Orson Scott Card's "Ender's Game" trilogy
+ William Gibson's "Neuromancer"
+ William Gibson's "Pattern Recognition"
+ 512MB flash drive armed with Doom 2 + extra maps
+ Cellphone and charger

These items may keep me entertained. Everything else like BDUs, socks, t-shirts, army crap will be included on a case-by-case basis as room permits.

One of the worst things about this is that since I've never been to JRTC, I can't fathom how busy I could be. There's a little under 50 of us going there SOLELY to drive the 900 series trucks around and two are required per mission to drive a truck, one behind the wheel and one in charge. We're bringing weapons but won't be getting MILES gear and we're not bringing night-vision goggles. I can draw from this that we're NOT a part of any of the training exercise and that we're needlessly bringing weapons for show. And without NVGs, we won't be entering the training area at night. Sooo I see two polar opposites occurring. One, we spend all of our time in retarded formations and we're constantly driving MREs and troops around. Two, we spend a lot of time in retarded formations and we're called on once or twice a day to drive crap around but only during the week while second and fourth brigade are down there.

So this will either be a gruelling 30 days of duty or a mind-numbing 30 days of boredom.
