Deployment is lame
I didn't bring enough first-person shooters with me. Like I have Half-Life 2 and Doom and Duke3D and the first two Quake's but that was nowhere near enough. Need fresh blood.

She made me this nice new banner too. I'm still screwing with link colors and whatnot because as they are now they're invisible unless you know where they are. Oh well. I'm lazy and I kind of like it like that.
Not dead (or silenced yet)
I'm actually quite alive but rather swamped with work. I'm getting excited. Katie sent my zune a while ago and it should be getting here soon. It gives me something to look forward to.
Katie's birthday is less than a week away. This is where I taunt her because she has a box full of presents that she's under strict instructions not to open before I say she can. Sending presents ahead of time is a brilliant idea.

Someone said something they shouldn't have. Now I don't have to assume someone in my unit is reading this, I know someone is. We all had to disclose our myspaces and facebooks and websites and whatnot. Thanks asshole who doesn't understand the concept of OPSEC. Hi Dave!
Working again
So now I'm back to work. Like, daily stuff. It is beyond thrilling.
Timing is such a funny thing. As soon as my last mp3 player meets an unfortunate end, MS announces new Zunes that sound awesome and that they'd release an upgrade to the original Zune that brings it up on all the same features as the new ones.
Crap
So I was running on a treadmill today, listening to my little mp3 player, and reached for it but snagged my headphone cord instead and the mp3 player dropped, skidded across the treadmill, and was shot out onto the floor. Now it won't power on. Fucking LAME. I lost all motivation to keep running right then and there. I imagine I'm going to have a hard time motivating myself to do any more PT in the gym without my mp3 player. So now I need to wait until my next paycheck and hopefully with that one I can get another mp3 player and an armband so this doesn't happen again.
After I finished Deadhouse Gates I decided it was time for something a little lighter. One of the books I picked up at the terminal in Campbell was Neil Gaiman's Anansi Boys. It's a spinoff from American Gods. I didn't think American Gods was all that great but I knew Gaiman would be lighter than anything else I've got with me so I read it. It was pretty much awesome. Funnier than American Gods and I went right through it. I just started reading Jonathon Strange and Mr. Norrell and I have no idea what it's about besides magicians in England.
