Amazing games

Disclaimer: I have not finished any of these. Two of them I just started. This entire entry could just be initial impression gushings.

Hellgate London This is Diablo with Guns. It’s buggy and the part I’ve left off at gets frustratingly difficult but if you’re into Diablo you can forgive these flaws pretty easily. I play as a marksman so I use nothing but guns and I play the game like it is Doom with randomly generated levels.

My boss got a cracked version of Far Cry back when it first came out. I too was skeptical (I seem to remember the words “Halo killer” being used to describe it. My only complaint about the game was that, with the version that by boss had, every time you completed a level the game would crash and kick you back to the main menu. But, thanks to the crack, you could select what level you wanted to play at the main menu. Oh, and Halo killer it was not. And I was never really that amazed by Halo.

Halo Killer is taking it quite far. They’re definitely two very different games for that matter.

Geoff and I played Advent Rising, as you suggested. I’ve just posted a review of it (and other games) on my blog: http://wiki.yak.net/~pretention

Haven’t tried Far Cry, will probably do when it’s $2 at Gamestop :)
